Emerald-jane Turner trained as an Occupational Therapist in 1978 and over 25 years has headed departments in the NHS, trained psychotherapists in Europe and South Africa, specialised in working in the field of trauma both with individuals and organisations and contributed to ‘Trauma , A Guide for Counsellors.’ For 5 years she was the external trauma supervisor for the Counselling and Trauma Service at London Underground and is a regular lecturer at Westminster University on Approaches to Stress and Trauma.
She draws on this extensive experience to develop innovative strategies for managing stress and trauma in organisations throughout Europe.
In the immediate aftermath of the recent London bombings Emerald-jane was instrumental in supporting the recovery of staff, by facilitating groups for the sites affected, advising managers and gathering feedback for the organisation. She supported in-house counselling staff by facilitating groups focusing on maintaining staff resilience. Emerald-jane is a specialist consultant on critical incidents for responders.
Currently she provides consultancy services related to Human Resilience strategies and trainings, focussed on managing stress and trauma, particularly for organisations interfacing with the public.
